In Professor Brenda V. Ross‘ course on Crisis Communication and Reputation Management, we developed a Crisis Portfolio that outlines a comprehensive crisis plan for an organization of our choice. For my Crisis Portfolio, I chose Hillsong Church, unpacking its background, potential crises, stakeholders, communication strategies, ideal spokespersons, and response plans. I’m thankful to Brenda V. Ross for guiding me through this portfolio! She showed me what it means to think like a PR professional – to be empathetic, think outside of the box, and develop effective and efficient strategies to manage a crisis if/when it arises.
